Ralph Kelsey

One of Sandblast’s founding members, Ralph is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and award-winning sound designer.  A graduate of SUNY Fredonia with a B.S. in Sound Recording Technology, he was nominated for an Emmy for his outstanding audio mixing work on HBO’s Vice.

He has mixed and sound-designed TV & Radio promotion and programing for ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, Showtime, HBO, USA, Syfy, Nickelodeon, MTV, VH-1, Lifetime, Paramount Network & the History Channel, among others.  Ralph and partner Mike Ungar have been mixing and sound designing the ESPYs Award Show for over an unprecedented 20 consecutive years.

From the first season of NBC’s 30 Rock and parody commercials for SNL, to HBO's series Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas  and Sesame Street’s Abby’s Flying Fairy School,  to ESPN’s series on HBCUs, Ralph continues to explore the power of sound and the way it elevates good work to great.

The breadth of Ralph’s career also includes the sound design and mixing of several full length indie films including The Tavern, Big Fan, The Lennon Report, New York Ninja, and Hidden Exposure. One of Ralph’s true passions throughout the years has been the sound design and music composition for many on-line children’s learning platforms such as Audible, Sesame Interactive, The Dodo, Toca Boca, Homer Learning, and Amplify.
